"it has not been manipulated by any AI processing for UHD", "minimal DNR was applied to only a few shots".

Cytat:Thanks ever so much for taking the time to share your feedback on the recent UHD release of Nosferatu the Vampyre. We take all customer feedback seriously and we are sorry to hear of your disappointment.
Following your message, we contacted Werner Herzog Film GmbH and Alpha Omega, who restored the film and shared your feedback. They confirmed that the original negative of Nosferatu was scanned in 4K from the original negative and manually cleaned up using industry standard software and confirmed, crucially that it "...has not been manipulated by any AI processing for UHD." Furthermore, they state minimal DNR was applied to only a few shots, "We took forensic care of where to touch the image and to what degree."
It is not the BFI’s position to take artistic or editorial control over restorations that have been completed externally and approved by a film's director and their office.
We recognise that film presentation is subjective and that viewer responses can vary widely, which is the case with Nosferatu the Vampyre. Your comments have been passed to Werner Herzog's office for consideration on future restoration work and we appreciate your feedback.
We understand your disappointment on this occasion but hope you will continue to support the BFI's work in preserving and presenting cinema.
Thanks again and warm wishes, Heidi
