Zostawmy You Tube.
„HDR usage is restrained in terms of what it can do to the fullest extent of the format but is mightily effective in terms of what it does for Flanagan's movie. Skies retain more information rather than clouds looking like blown-out blobs, car headlights cut through the glare (though don't ruin that lovely haloing effect) and offer up more intensity without necessarily showing every bulb in every socket, while interior lighting in particular draws down a hell of a lot more range than the SDR equivalent, be it the blinds inside Rose the Hat's RV that just clip to white in SDR or most forms of artificial interior light. Take the start of chapter 16 when Rose the Hat confronts Danny and Abra in you-know-where, the candle-effect electric bulbs around them are literally just fat blobs of light in SDR but are greatly refined in HDR, and even simpler things like Danny's hands reflected in the white underlit bar-top are resolved with greater clarity. If anything I'd say that the luminance coming off of those backlit white panels behind the bar is actually brighter in the SDR than the HDR in the wider shots, they're simply graded to blow out in SDR but are more restrained in HDR”.

„However, the cinematography does not always lend itself to showy 4K visuals, as some scenes are bathed so deeply in darkness that it's hard to consider Doctor Sleep a prime example of the format's capabilities. This extends to its somewhat limited use of HDR, which does pop nicely during certain moments but, as a whole, doesn't regularly stand head-and-shoulders above the Blu-ray in its overall vividness or quality of color saturation”.
