Cytat:The main challenge of this restoration was to reinsert the missing scenes into the film. These scenes, which Sergio Leone had to cut and were thought to be lost, have been inserted into this edition in the most harmonious way possible. Unfortunately, the only surviving materials were poorly preserved positives, and consequently the greatest difficulty in the restoration was to make the quality of the cut scenes consistent with the rest of the film. The resulting outcome brings us closer to the director's original vision for this film.

Już edycje BD z wersją rozszerzoną powstały na podstawie skanu 4K negatywu, ale w grudniu okaże się czy nowe wydania będą się opierać na tym dotychczasowym skanie z ew. dodanym HDR i/lub inną korekcją barwną, czy może u samej podstawy będzie to coś zupełnie nowego, także w odniesieniu do tych nieszczęsnych dodanych scen.
