Po co nowy transfer czemuś, z założenia, tak paskudnemu i ograniczonemu u źródła? Jeśli już to może ktoś kiedyś wpadnie na pomysł "AI-enhanced" remastera, ale tego chyba nikt przy zdrowych zmysłach by nie chciał

No chyba że coś było nie tak z poprzednimi wydaniami, szczerze mówiąc nigdy się nie interesowałem.

A warto, bo ten film ma urok podobny do wczesnych, klasycznych płyt norweskiego black metalu Po jego ukazaniu może jeszcze z 10 filmów w gatunku horroru miało sens - czyt. nie było wydmuszkami annabellowo-obecnościowymi. Sięgnę pewnie bo zwykłego bluray'a - który też ma fajna okładkę, co w dzisiejszych czasach jest niestety rzadkością.

This edition marks the FIRST TIME the movie has been properly transferred and released in the way it was intended to be seen! If you want to know how or why, keep reading.

In 1999, theatrical films didn't originate on video, so there was no codified process for putting them out on video. So they did it like all films back then: They transferred the 35mm negative to video.

Unfortunately, the 35mm negative is NOT the actual camera negative. As a result, the version released for all forms of home video is incorrect. The colors, the motion, the strange rounded corners, it didn't look like a home video, and it didn't look like film.

This is the FIRST (and for the immediate time being) the ONLY edition of the film to be properly transferred for home video release. It finally looks the way it did to us when we were editing the film. The way we wanted it to look.

In fact, if theaters had been able to project video in 1999, then THIS transfer would have played theatrically! The 35mm print was a step we had to take due to the technology of the time.

Over the last 25 years, the film has felt unfinished to me could see it the way it was intended to be seen; as a true "found footage" experience, it now looks the way it always should have.

I know many will be upset that it is Region B. I WISH it were all-region, but contracts and legal stuff prevent that. That said, THIS edition COULD be released in the US. That decision belongs exclusively to @Lionsgate or @LionsgateHorror.

If you don't have a region-free player, I suggest you contact @Lionsgate directly and ask them to release this version of the film.

In fact, I hope they will use this transfer to make a DCP and screen this version in theaters from now on.

I hope this version becomes the definitive version that shows up on streaming. The old transfer is currently on @peacock, in the wrong aspect ratio, no less! But that's all up to @Lionsgate.

For now, I'm going to mangle a quote from Rustin Parr: "It's finally finished." And you can see it come November 11.

Czyli wychodzi na to, że nawet w kinach nie było tak, jak powinno? Czuję się oszukany. Dla mnie film na raz, więc raczej pass, ale ogółem ciekawy przypadek.

Wiem o co ci chodzi ale po obejrzeniu UHD Natural Born Killers gdzie Stone i Richardson mieszali różne formaty stwierdzam, że nawet te fragmenty kręcone tymi paskudnymi Hi8 i Beta wyglądały lepiej niż kiedykolwiek Dlatego jestem zawiedzony, że Blair Witch nie wychodzi w 4K. Chyba chciałbym mieć wszystko w 4K, czy to ma sens czy nie

Nie znalazłem tematu poświęconego wydawnictwom polskich filmów na blu-ray, więc piszę tu. Garść polskich filmów na blu-ray od Le chat qui fume: Człowiek z żelaza, Człowiek z marmuru, Przesłuchanie, Na srebrnym globie, Robotnicy '80 (z tego co się orientuję - premiera na blu-ray).
